§ 30-8-34

30:8-34. Cost of keeping prisoners and expense of materials for their labor All disorderly persons and others ordered by law to be sent to a county workhouse shall be kept therein at the charge and expense of the county unless otherwise directed by law. The board of chosen freeholders is authorized at its expense to procure suitable articles, things and materials for their labor, work and employment.
