Vehicles exempt from toll charges No toll shall be charged for the passage of any ambulance, first-aid or emergency aid vehicle, or vehicular fire fighting apparatus, operated for the benefit of the public by the State of New Jersey or the State of Pennsylvania or by any county or municipal corporation, or charitable or nonprofit corporation or organization, first aid squad, emergency squad, or fire company of either of said States, over the bridge across the Delaware river between the cities of Camden, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or any part thereof and any such vehicle shall be entitled to pass thereover without the payment of any toll for such passage.
