36:2-293 'Maternal Health Awareness Day,' January 23; designated. 1. January 23 of each year shall be designated as 'Maternal Health Awareness Day,' in order to raise public and professional awareness about important maternal health, safety, and mortality issues; highlight obstetrical pathways that promote maternal safety; educate the citizens of New Jersey about promising maternal health initiatives, including public initiatives like the 'Stop, Look, and Listen' campaign, and professional initiatives, like the AIM Program, which focus on improving patient safety and decreasing maternal mortality; and encourage the development of new programs and initiatives that are designed to proactively address issues of maternal health and mortality.
