Proof of ownership; bicycle purchased prior to effective date of act With respect to motorized bicycles purchased prior to the effective date of this act, and for which no bill of sale or other formal proof of ownership is available, the director may accept as proof of ownership a sworn affidavit from the owner, setting forth with reasonable specificity facts regarding the acquisition of ownership of the motorized bicycle, together with any supporting documents, as proof of ownership of the motorized bicycle. A person who knowingly submits a false bill of sale, false receipt for purchase, or any other false proof of ownership, or who knowingly submits any false affidavit or false supporting document regarding proof of ownership of a motorized bicycle, commits a crime of the fourth degree.
