39:4-183.27. Rules and regulations; placement, specifications, location and maintenance of traffic signs and markings The Commissioner of Transportation shall, from time to time, promulgate rules and regulations concerning the placing, specifications, location and maintenance of highway and traffic signs and markings. In promulgating such rules and regulations, the commissioner shall be guided by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for streets and highways which has been adopted by the Federal Highway Administrator as a national standard for application on all classes of highways.
