39:4-183.6 Determination of signage. 7. The commissioner may determine the character, type, location, wording or symbol, and use of all traffic signs on the highways of this State; may adopt a manual and specifications for a uniform system of traffic signs consistent with the provisions of this act for use upon public highways within the State. Such uniform system shall correlate with and so far as possible conform to the system then current as specified in the 'Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways.'
