§ 39-7-4

39:7-4. Continuances to permit defendant to defend The court in which an action against a chauffeur, operator or owner mentioned in section 39:7-2 of this title is pending may order such continuances as may be necessary to afford the defendant reasonable opportunity to defend the action.
