In a devise of real or personal property the words 'die without issue' or 'die without descendants' or 'die without lawful issue' or 'die without lawful descendants' or 'have no issue' or 'have no descendants' or other words which may import a want or failure of issue or descendants of an individual in his lifetime, or at his death, or an indefinite failure of his issue or descendants, shall be construed to mean a failure of issue or descendants at the death of the individual, unless a contrary intention shall otherwise appear by the will.
