40:37-244. Vote required for adoption All ballots so cast for or against the question shall be counted and the result thereof returned by the election officers, and the acceptance or rejection thereof shall be determined by the result thereof. If upon the canvass of all the votes cast for or against the question, it shall appear that a majority of them were in favor thereof, the provisions of sections 40:37-195 to 40:37-247 of this title shall become operative in that county.
