§ 40-43-7

40:43-7. Actions and liabilities unaffected No suit brought by or against any such municipality shall abate by reason of the change of such corporate title, nor shall the liability of such municipality, or of any person to such municipality, on any contracts or otherwise, be affected by reason thereof.
