Payment of assessment in installments by owner of assessed real estate The governing body of a local unit may by resolution or ordinance, as the case may be, permit the owner of real estate upon which an assessment for an improvement has been made to pay the assessment in installments pursuant to the procedures contained in R.S. 40:56-35.
