40A:9-117.19. Continuation of position of sheriff's officer chief, reappointment Notwithstanding the provisions of section 3 of this act, any person serving as a sheriff's officer chief on the effective date of this act shall remain in the position until the expiration of his term of appointment, and may be reappointed for a term to be determined by the appointing authority.
