40A:9-139. Attorney; appointment; term In every municipality the governing body, by ordinance, shall provide for the appointment of a municipal attorney who may be designated as the corporation counsel or municipal attorney and unless otherwise provided by law the term of office of the municipal attorney shall be 1 year.
