43:10-18.79. Status of member taking approved leave of absence to accept appointive, administrative or elective county position Notwithstanding any other provision of this act, when a member takes an approved leave of absence to accept an appointive, administrative or elective position with the county, which is not covered by another retirement system, he shall be deemed to be in service covered by this fund and shall continue to contribute to the fund on the basis of the salary attributable to the position he held just prior to the leave of absence.
