43:13-22.16g. Purchase of prior service credit by members of the board of education, housing authority, police or fire departments Any employee member of the city employees' retirement system may upon application to the pension commission purchase prior service credit for full-time service as a permanent employee of the board of education or the housing authority of the city or of the city's police or fire departments which preceded his membership in its pension system. Purchase payment for prior service shall be made at the salary scale and rate of contribution effective at the time application for purchase is made. Time payments and methods of deductions shall be the same as are presently in effect under this act. L.1966, c. 259, s. 9, eff. Aug. 25, 1966. Amended by L.1972, c. 122, s. 3.
