52:17B-41.30. Release of patient's prescription 6. A licensed physician or optometrist shall release a copy of the patient's prescription containing a spectacle lens specification with contact lens specifications to any person qualified to dispense contact lenses upon the patient's request, except that nothing in this act shall require an optometrist or physician to write a prescription for contact lenses when, in the judgment of the optometrist or physician, it is contraindicated.
