52:18-50 Certain State entities prohibited from charging certain fees. 1. Notwithstanding any law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, a State department, agency, board, bureau, authority, office, or any other entity or instrumentality thereof, shall not impose a fee, fine, or penalty on any applicant who has completed and submits an application for a permit, certificate, or any other purpose, when that fee or penalty is imposed solely to correct clerical errors made by the applicant on the application. Nothing herein shall be construed to impair the State entity's ability to impose any fee, fine or penalty permitted by law or regulation on any applicant due to the applicant's provision of false, misleading, or fraudulent information on an application completed and submitted for a permit, certificate, or any other purpose.
