54:4-6.11. Double damages Any property owner of qualified real rental property who fails to provide a tenant or, in the case of a lease terminated pursuant to P.L. 1971, c. 318 (C. 46:8-9.1), the executor or administrator of the estate of the tenant or the surviving spouse of the tenant so terminating the lease, with a property tax rebate in accordance with the provisions of this act shall be liable to the tenant executor, administrator or surviving spouse for twice the amount of the property tax rebate to which the tenant was entitled or $100.00, whichever is greater.
