A. The secretary shall establish by rule a list of reportable conditions of public health importance. The list shall include conditions of humans or animals caused by exposure to toxic substances, microorganisms or any other pathogens or conditions that arise due to injury. The secretary shall: (1) prescribe the manner of and the person responsible for reporting conditions of public health importance; (2) classify each reportable condition of public health importance according to the urgency of reporting; and (3) revise the list of reportable conditions of public health importance as necessary. B. The secretary may enter into agreements or other arrangements with federal and tribal public health agencies for receipt and sharing of information regarding reportable conditions of public health importance. C. The department shall disseminate reporting requirements to health care providers and other persons required to report conditions of public health importance. D. A person with knowledge of a reportable condition of public health importance shall report the condition to the department. History: Laws 2017, ch. 87, § 18.
