A. The 'next generation council' is created. The board shall appoint ten members, at least two from each federal congressional district, who are not employees of the state and who are knowledgeable in the area of positive child and youth development programs. Members serve at the pleasure of the board. Members shall select a member to serve as chair of the council. Members are entitled to per diem and mileage as provided in the Per Diem and Mileage Act [10-8-1 to 10-8-8 NMSA 1978] and shall receive no other compensation, perquisite or allowance. B. The council shall evaluate proposed next generation fund projects and programs and make funding recommendations to the board.
