Section 49-1-13 - Vacancies

If a vacancy occurs on the board of trustees, the remaining members shall fill the vacancy by appointment made at a regular meeting. ANNOTATIONSThe 2019 amendment, effective June 14, 2019, provided that a person appointed to the board of trustees of a land grant-merced to fill a vacancy shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term of the trustee being replaced; after 'board', added 'of trustees', and after 'shall hold office', deleted 'until the next regular election' and added 'for the remainder of the unexpired term of the trustee being replaced'.The 2004 amendment, effective July 1, 2004, made minor changes.
