Renewable energy procured or generated by a public utility to comply with a federal law, rule or regulation may be used to satisfy the required procurements of the Renewable Energy Act. ANNOTATIONSThe 2019 amendment, effective June 14, 2019, allowed a public utility to use renewable energy procured or generated to comply with a federal law, rule or regulation to be used to satisfy the procurement requirements of the Renewable Energy Act; and after 'generated by a public utility to', deleted 'meet' and added 'comply with', and after 'federal', deleted 'renewable portfolio standard' and added 'law, rule or regulation'.
