In a district established pursuant to the Flood Control District Act, the election of directors shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Local Election Act [Chapter 1, Article 22 NMSA 1978]. ANNOTATIONSThe 2018 amendment, effective July 1, 2018, provided that the election of directors to the Flood Control District board shall be held in accordance with the Local Election Act, and made technical and conforming changes; after 'established pursuant to the Flood Control District Act', deleted 'whose boundaries are coterminous with the voting precincts of the county', and after 'the election of directors shall be conducted', deleted the remainder of the section and added 'in accordance with the provisions of the Local Election Act'.
