A person in this state who sells, transfers or delivers to another person in this state any livestock that is not branded or marked with the brand or mark of the person selling, transferring or delivering the livestock shall deliver to the person buying or receiving the livestock a bill of sale showing from whom the livestock was received as provided in Section 77-9-22 NMSA 1978. ANNOTATIONSThe 1999 amendment, effective July 1, 1999, substituted the language beginning 'a bill of sale showing from whom' for 'a bill of sale duly acknowledged. The bill of sale shall contain a full description of the animal sold, transferred or delivered, giving the brands and marks on the animal and showing from whom the animal was received together with the post office address of the person, firm or corporation from whom the animal was received or obtained', and made stylistic changes throughout the section.
