The secretary may establish, within each division, such 'bureaus' that the secretary deems necessary to carry out the provisions of the Veterans' Services Department Act. The secretary shall appoint a 'chief' to be the administrative head of a bureau. All chiefs and subsidiary employees of the department shall be covered by the Personnel Act [Chapter 10, Article 9 NMSA 1978], unless otherwise provided by law. History: Laws 2004, ch. 19, § 10.
