Section 9-24-11 - Advisory committees

A. Advisory committees may be created. 'Advisory' means furnishing advice, gathering information, making recommendations and performing such other activities as may be instructed or delegated and as may be necessary to fulfill advisory functions or to comply with federal or private funding requirements and does not extend to administering a program or function or setting policy unless specified by law. Advisory committees shall be appointed in accordance with the provisions of the Executive Reorganization Act [9-1-1 to 9-1-10 NMSA 1978]. B. All members of advisory committees appointed under the authority of this section shall receive as their sole remuneration for services as a member those amounts authorized under the Per Diem and Mileage Act [10-8-1 to 10-8-8 NMSA 1978]. History: Laws 2004, ch. 27, § 11. ANNOTATIONSEffective dates. — Laws 2004, ch. 27 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective May 19, 2004, 90 days after adjournment of the legislature.
