The secretary of the senate and the clerk of the assembly for their respective houses shall distribute bound volumes of journals and bound volumes of bills, and other public documents of each house of the legislature or any of its standing, special, select or joint committees, subcommittees, or legislative commissions as follows: 1. To the legislative library, three copies of the journals, bills, and public documents; 2. To the New York state library, for its depositories, the United States Library of Congress and general exchange, thirty copies of the journals, thirty copies of the public documents, and one copy of the bills; 3. To the executive chamber, one copy of the bills; 4. To the office of the secretary of state, one copy of the bills; 5. To the office of the attorney general, one copy of the journals and bills. 6. The term 'public document' as used in this section shall mean those documents defined by rules and regulations of the temporary president of the senate and the speaker of the assembly for their respective houses of the legislature.
