\nNo hospital service corporation governed by this Article and Article 66 of this Chapter shall do either of the following:\n(1) Refuse to issue or deliver any individual or group hospital, dental, medical, vision, or health service contract in this State that provides benefits or coverage for any health care treatment or service authorized or permitted to be provided by a hospital, health care facility, or health care personnel, on account of the fact that the person who is to be insured possesses sickle cell trait or hemoglobin C trait.\n(2) Issue and deliver a policy that has a higher premium rate or charge on account of the fact that the person who is to be insured possesses sickle cell trait.
