\n(a) Individual firefighters whose departments are not members of the North Carolina State Firefighters' Association shall be covered under the line of duty coverage offered by the Association.\n(b) Benefits under this section shall be paid from the funds that are forfeited from local departments to the Statewide Firefighters' Relief Fund.
