Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly The general assembly or the governor may require the treasurer of state to give such additional bond as is necessary. If the demand is not complied with within ten days to the satisfaction of the general assembly or the governor, the office of treasurer of state shall be declared vacant, and the governor shall appoint a treasurer of state to fill the vacancy. The person so appointed shall give and file a bond, take the oath of office, shall have the powers, perform the duties, and be subject to the liabilities, of an elected and qualified treasurer of state.
