Effective: July 8, 1993 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 43 - 120th General Assembly If the public employees retirement system, between June 1, 1992, and December 31, 1992, informed a member in writing that, as a recipient of age and service retirement, the member will receive health care coverage, the system shall grant full-time service credit to the member for each month of contributing service as an elected official prior to December 31, 1987, only for the purpose of health care coverage under section 145.58 of the Revised Code, provided the member canceled a policy of health insurance in reliance on the system's written notice. Health care coverage to be provided under this section is effective on the date specified in the writing informing the member that he will receive health care coverage.
