Effective: September 28, 2018 Latest Legislation: House Bill 8 - 132nd General Assembly Notwithstanding division (A)(1)(gg) of section 149.43 of the Revised Code, upon written request made and signed by the parent or guardian of an individual who is less than eighteen years of age and was an occupant of a school vehicle involved in a traffic accident, a public office or person responsible for public records, having custody of any record related to the traffic accident containing the personal information of the individual, shall transmit a copy of that record to the recipient identified in the request. The written request shall identify the individual on whose behalf the record is requested and the person to whom the record shall be transmitted. The record shall be transmitted only to the person identified in the written request as the recipient of the record. A public office or person responsible for records responding to a request under this section shall redact any personal information contained in the record of any individual less than eighteen years of age who is not the subject of the request, before providing the record to the recipient.
