Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly Real estate held by or in trust for a religious society or congregation, as a place of worship or otherwise, is liable for and by civil action may be subjected to the payment of a judgment recovered against the trustees or a committee of such society or congregation, in their individual capacity or otherwise, for labor performed, materials furnished, or damages sustained, under any contract with them for the erection of a church edifice or other building or improvement made on such real estate.
