Effective: July 1, 1997 Latest Legislation: House Bill 438 - 121st General Assembly When the balance claimed to be due on an open or unsettled account or on a bill, note, or bond, is fifteen thousand dollars or less, the party by whom the balance is claimed may commence an action for the balance before a county court. The court may hear and determine the matters in controversy, without regard to the original account or contract, and render judgment for any balance found due, not exceeding fifteen thousand dollars.
