Effective: January 13, 2012 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 124 - 129th General Assembly When two or more persons are indebted in a joint contract, or upon a judgment founded on the joint contract, and either of them dies, the decedent's estate shall be liable for the debt as if the contract had been joint and several, or as if the judgment had been against the decedent alone. This section shall not affect the rights of a surety, when certified as such, in a judgment rendered jointly against the surety and the surety's principal.
