Effective: April 14, 2006 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 9 - 126th General Assembly (A) Any peace officer may render assistance to any federal law enforcement officer who has arrest authority under the 'Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA Patriot Act) Act of 2001,' Pub. L. No. 107-056, 115 Stat. 272, as amended, if both of the following apply:(1) There is a threat of imminent physical danger to the federal law enforcement officer, a threat of physical harm to another person, or any other serious emergency situation present.(2) Either the federal law enforcement officer requests emergency assistance or it appears that the federal law enforcement officer is unable to request assistance, and the circumstances reasonably indicate that assistance is appropriate.(B) 'Federal law enforcement officer' has the same meaning as in section 9.88 of the Revised Code.
