Effective: September 30, 2021 Latest Legislation: House Bill 110 - 134th General Assembly (A) As used in this section, 'state university' has the same meaning as in section 3345.011 of the Revised Code. (B) Beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year, each state university shall recognize the successful completion of a course in advanced computer science in high school, as described in the standards adopted pursuant to division (A)(4) of section 3301.079 of the Revised Code, as a unit for admission to the university, as follows: (1) The state university shall recognize one unit of advanced computer science as one unit toward meeting a general mathematics requirement, as determined by the university, if the student used that advanced computer science unit to meet the mathematics curriculum requirement under division (C)(3) of section 3313.603 of the Revised Code. (2) The state university shall recognize one unit of advanced computer science as one unit toward meeting a general science requirement, as determined by the university, if the student used that advanced computer science unit to meet the science curriculum requirement under division (C)(5) of section 3313.603 of the Revised

(3) The state university shall recognize one unit of advanced computer science as one unit toward meeting a general elective requirement, as determined by the university, if the student used the advanced computer science unit to meet the curriculum requirement under division (C)(8) of section 3313.603 of the Revised Code. (4) The state university shall recognize one unit of computer coding as one unit toward meeting a general foreign language requirement, as determined by the university, if the student used the computer coding unit to meet a school district's or school's foreign language curriculum requirement as described in division (E) of section 3313.603 of the Revised Code. (C) Each state university shall post a description of the university's recognition of advanced computer science as a core unit for admission to the university, as described in division (B) of this section, in a prominent location on the university's web site.
