Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly The secretary of state is the chief election officer of the state, with such powers and duties relating to the registration of voters and the conduct of elections as are prescribed in Title XXXV of the Revised Code. He shall perform these duties, in addition to other duties imposed upon him by law, without additional compensation.
