Effective: February 12, 2004 Latest Legislation: House Bill 6 - 125th General Assembly The department of health shall maintain a public health laboratory for the following:(A) Examination of public water supplies and the effluent of sewage purification works;(B) Diagnosis of, screening for, or confirmation of diseases or pathogens as it deems necessary;(C) Performance of biological, chemical, or radiological analyses or examinations as it deems necessary;(D) Analysis of patient specimens and food samples necessary for investigation of foodborne illnesses. In foodborne illness investigations, the laboratory shall cooperate and consult with the director of agriculture acting pursuant to section 3715.02 of the Revised Code.
