Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly When a contagious or infectious disease becomes or threatens to become epidemic in a municipal corporation or township, and the local authorities neglect or refuse to enforce efficient measures for its prevention, the director of health may appoint a medical or sanitary officer and such assistants as he may require, and authorize him to enforce such orders or regulations as the director deems necessary.
