Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly The board of health of a city or general health district may establish detention hospitals for cases of communicable diseases and provide for the support and maintenance thereof. It may collect from persons committed to such hospitals the cost of the care and treatment of such persons while inmates therein. The expenses of such indigent persons as are committed to such hospitals shall be a proper charge against and shall be collected from the township or municipal corporation from which such person was sent to the hospital.
