Effective: September 17, 2002 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 124 - 124th General Assembly On and after November 3, 2002, no hospital in this state shall knowingly do any of the following:(A) Represent that it is able to provide adult or pediatric trauma care to a severely injured patient that is inconsistent with its level of categorization as an adult or pediatric trauma center, provided that a hospital that operates an emergency facility may represent that it provides emergency care;(B) Provide adult or pediatric trauma care to a severely injured patient that is inconsistent with applicable federal laws, state laws, and trauma care protocols and patient transfer agreements the hospital has adopted under section 3727.09 of the Revised Code;(C) Transfer a severely injured adult or pediatric trauma patient to a hospital that is not a trauma center with an appropriate level of adult or pediatric categorization or otherwise transfer a severely injured adult or pediatric trauma patient in a manner inconsistent with any applicable trauma patient transfer agreement adopted by the hospital under section 3727.09 of the Revised Code.
