Effective: October 16, 2009 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 128th General Assembly Any person who wishes to conduct a public or private competition that involves boxing, wrestling, mixed martial arts, kick boxing, tough man contests, tough guy contests, or any other form of boxing or martial arts shall apply to the Ohio athletic commission for a promoter's license. Each application shall be filed with the commission on forms provided by the commission, and shall be accompanied by an application fee as prescribed in section 3773.43 of the Revised Code and, with the exception of wrestling events, by a surety bond of not less than twenty thousand dollars conditioned for compliance with sections 3773.31 to 3773.57 of the Revised Code and the rules of the commission. The commission shall prescribe the form of the application for the promoter's license. The application shall include the name of the applicant, the post office address of the applicant, and any other information the commission requires.
