Effective: January 22, 2025 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 175 - 135th General Assembly (A) The purpose of this chapter is to promote the public welfare by creating a comprehensive legal framework within which pet insurance may be sold, issued, and delivered in this state. (B) The requirements of this chapter apply to pet insurance policies that are: (1) Issued to any resident of this state; (2) Sold, solicited, or negotiated in this state; (3) Delivered or issued for delivery in this state. (C) Pet insurers and pet insurance policies are subject to all other applicable laws, except that the specific provisions of this chapter supersede any conflicting general provisions of law that would otherwise apply.
