Effective: November 3, 1989 Latest Legislation: House Bill 222 - 118th General Assembly (A) Upon petition by any person that any employment or place of employment is not safe or is injurious to the welfare of any employee or frequenter, the bureau of workers' compensation shall proceed with or without notice to make an investigation as is necessary to determine the matter complained of.(B) After such hearing as is necessary, the bureau may enter any necessary order relative thereto to render the employment or place of employment safe and not injurious to the welfare of the employees therein or frequenters thereof.(C) Whenever the bureau learns that any employment or place of employment is not safe or is injurious to the welfare of any employee or frequenter, it may of its own motion summarily investigate the same, with or without notice, and issue such order as is necessary thereto.
