Effective: October 31, 2001 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 59 - 124th General Assembly No person who acquires an off-highway motorcycle or all-purpose vehicle from the owner of it, whether the owner is a manufacturer, importer, dealer, or any other person, acquires any right, title, claim, or interest in or to the off-highway motorcycle or all-purpose vehicle until the person has been issued a certificate of title to the off-highway motorcycle or all-purpose vehicle, or there is delivered to the person a manufacturer's or importer's certificate for it, or a certificate of title to it is assigned as authorized by section 4519.521 of the Revised Code. No waiver or estoppel operates in favor of that person against a person having possession of the certificate of title to, or manufacturer's or importer's certificate for, the off-highway motorcycle or all-purpose vehicle, for a valuable consideration.No court in any case at law or in equity shall recognize the right, title, claim, or interest of any person in or to any off-highway motorcycle or all-purpose vehicle sold or disposed of, or mortgaged or encumbered, unless evidenced by one of the following:(A) A certificate of title or a

rest of any person in or to any off-highway motorcycle or all-purpose vehicle sold or disposed of, or mortgaged or encumbered, unless evidenced by one of the following:(A) A certificate of title or a manufacturer's or importer's certificate issued in accordance with this chapter, or an assignment of a certificate of title made under section 4519.521 of the Revised Code;(B) Admission in the pleadings or stipulation of the parties.
