Effective: March 20, 2019 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 259 - 132nd General Assembly The state dental board shall adopt rules in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code as it considers necessary to implement sections 4715.43 to 4715.435 of the Revised Code. The rules shall include all of the following: (A) Requirements that must be met for issuance of a teledentistry permit under section 4715.43 of the Revised Code; (B) Approval of courses on the proper placement of interim therapeutic restorations and the application of silver diamine fluoride, as authorized under section 4715.431 of the Revised Code. (C) Requirements for obtaining informed consent for the placement of interim therapeutic restorations or the application of silver diamine fluoride when the patient is not examined in person by a dentist and the services are provided under a teledentistry permit, as described in section 4715.431 of the Revised Code. The rules may specify procedures a dental hygienist is not permitted to perform when practicing in the absence of the authorizing dentist pursuant to section 4715.431 of the Revised Code.
