Effective: October 17, 2019 Latest Legislation: House Bill 166 - 133rd General Assembly (A) Except as provided in division (B) of this section, no person shall practice as an anesthesiologist assistant unless the person holds a current, valid license issued under this chapter to practice as an anesthesiologist assistant. (B) Division (A) of this section does not apply to either of the following: (1) A person participating in a training program leading toward certification by the national commission for certification of anesthesiologist assistants, as long as the person is supervised by an anesthesiologist, an individual participating in a hospital residency program in preparation to practice as an anesthesiologist, or an anesthesiologist assistant who holds a current, valid license issued under this chapter; (2) Any person who otherwise holds professional authority granted pursuant to the Revised Code to perform any of the activities that an anesthesiologist assistant is authorized to perform.
