Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly A railroad or electric railway refusing or neglecting to comply with an order of the public utilities commission concerning the protection of persons and property from danger at grade crossings of any such railroad over another, or over a swing bridge or drawbridge and at junction points, by providing interlocking works or other fixtures, shall forfeit five hundred dollars per week for each week such railroad refuses or neglects to obey such orders. Such forfeiture shall be recovered in an action in the name of the state, and, when collected, paid into the treasury of the county in which such suit was brought.
