Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly Upon an investigation, if the rate, or any regulation, practice, or service of any railroad complained of is found to be unreasonable or unjustly discriminatory, or the service inadequate, the public utilities commission may fix and order substituted therefor, such rate, fare, charge, or classification as it determines is to be just and reasonable, which shall be charged, imposed, and followed in the future. The commission may also make such orders respecting such regulation, practice, or service as it determines is reasonable, which shall be observed and followed in the future, but no rate fixed shall exceed the maximum rate prescribed by any statute of this state in force at the time the commission fixes such rates.
